He has appeared as soloist with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Thai Navy Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra and the Bangkok String Orchestra among others. He has also given numerous recitals, regularly performs chamber music and is presently concertmaster of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. Tasana's repertoire ranges from ancient music to contemporary motion picture soundtrack, and he has inspired a number of modern composers to create new works especially for him.
Tasana took violin lessons with Supot Chomboon, Sutin Srinarong and later with Col. Choochart Pitaksakorn. Still in his teens, he was appointed concertmaster of the Thai National Youth Orchestra and the ASEAN Youth Orchestra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
He continued his music studies at the International Menuhin Music Academy (IMMA) in Switzerland and the Vorarlberg Conservatory in Austria. His teachers were Alberto Lysy, Gratchia Arutunjan, Johannes Eskar and Roland Baldini. At IMMA he received a rigorous training in chamber music, while touring with the Camerata Lysy Gstaad under the direction of Lord Yehudi Menuhin in most major European cities, the U.S., Canada and South America.
Moving from Europe to the U.S., he studied the violin with Kathryn Lucktenberg at the University of Oregon, Eugene, where he was a Graduate Teaching Fellow. Tasana was an assistant violin instructor, concertmaster of the University Symphony as well as 1st violin with the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, the Oregon Mozart Players and the Collegium Musicum Ensemble (specializing in period instruments). He led the Polaris String Quartet to the semi-final of the renowned Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in Indiana. He graduated with a Master of Music degree and received the Outstanding Graduate Performer Award.
In addition to his extensive performance schedule, Tasana is seriously committed to teaching and music education. He is currently Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University. He was a founding member of the Lanna Music Festival and has directed the Silpakorn Summer Music School, where young musical talents are trained to attain artistic excellence. He also writes articles on music and socio-political criticism for the OPEN Magazine.
Tasana received a scholarship from the Classical Music Education Supporting Fund under the patronage of HRH Princess Galayanivadhana to attend a masterclass at the Crescendo Violin School for professional musicians in Neustadt/Weinstrasse, Germany.
